Wellness practices of qigong refer to traditional methods of treatment, therapeutic physical culture (physical therapy). The practices of therapeutic qigong have an applied nature and are focused on practical earthly goals. Many exercises of this direction of qigong have long been considered more practical, only as a means of gaining physical and mental health, and as a consequence of longevity, strength, etc.
In the Taoist tradition, this direction of qigong is the basic one. A healthy state of the physical body is one of the prerequisites for success, in energy practices, in martial arts. There is such a saying: "In a healthy body, a healthy mind." In order to obtain a healing effect from practices, their regular and long-term use is necessary. The positive effect, most often, manifests itself after several months (6 – 9 months) of regular classes, although it may manifest itself in a shorter time.
